I honestly hated this mouse at first because of what previous reviewers have stated about the wheel. It's funky and sometimes scrolls down really far and then goes back up really fast without you wanting it to on webpages. But there is a solution. Go to Control Panel -> Mouse -> Wheel ... then select Vertical Scrolling option to "One Screen at a Time". And for me at least, the problem is solved. It goes up and down smoothly now. I love this mouse.Definitely a solid mouse to go with. It isn't too expensive and is basic, but it gets the job done well. It's made for bigger hands which helps if you have them. Overall it works great: I like the ability to program the side buttons for games. I really don't have that many issues with it - the plastic isn't cheap, the buttons and scroll wheel work well for my tastes, and it seems pretty accurate.Biggest problem though is the software. The layout isn't the greatest and it sometimes doesn't remember my settings for different games. I also don't like how it limits the amount of options you can assign buttons to. My last mouse had an adjustable DPI as a physical switch itself which came in handy that this one doesn't have.I got this mouse for my work laptop to be taken on travel and loved the grip and responsiveness of the mouse that I had to get it for my desktop PC as well.+Mouse buttons and colors are customizable.+Mouse speed is also customizable.+Corded! **Which may not be a pro for you, but I love not having to worry about my mouse dying from low battery in the middle of a game. Or the extra cost of buying batteries.A no fills mouse. No 30 mmorpg buttons, no software to change all 1.4 billion colors that they claim they can have. It has four buttons, the normal two and two programable ones on the side. My only complaint is the mouse is very light, maybe i'll be able to add some weights somehow. Anyway, hard to beat for a sub 20$ mouse.Decent mouse. Everything works. Only thing is I downloaded the software and my pc started lagging. Games weren’t as smooth and it froze a lot. It also blocked some of the computers features. I have an Asus Zephyrus rog m15 and turbo mode would not turn on. Uninstalled the software and the games ran smooth again and turbo mode turned back on. Good mouse otherwiseI'm not able to verify if it's new model or not authentic. Since the wire is rubber wrap not nylon(I've also attached the picture of my current mouse brought 1year ago with same model). And small details are different. Also, they are different weights. The Deathadder essential brought from rayzer website is 123g currentlyThe Deathadder essential brought from here weight is 128g.Amazing! I wear and tear 5g of material from the old mouse after 1 year! But hey, it's 4 stars for its current status, it's good to use.1. This mouse is not "lightweight junk".2. Braided cables are worse.3. Silicone side grips were never that great. Some of the reviews on here are ridiculous. Let me clear some things up.The Kailh switches in here are mid-weight and feel slightly heavier (and less mushy) than the optical switches in the Deathadder V2. The side buttons feel significantly better than the V2. The scroll wheel is less tactile (or smoother, depending on how you look at it). This is a heavy, heavy boy by today's standards. This thing is better built than the V2, but consequently harder to do a weight reduction mod because the plastic is so damn thick.People that complain about this version not having a braided cable... you want an even less flexible one?! Razer's braided cable is the same rubber cable with an additional outside sheath, making it even less flexible. This cable is an improvement from years past, but it's not great. Fortunately because it's not braided, it's easy to rip the rubber sheath and shielding off, and paracord it.The side grips are meh. It's a bit more than molded plastic, but not as noticeable as the silicone on the V2. Silicone still gets slippery when wet, so best solution was always aftermarket grips. If the V2 had G703 quality rubber grips to being with, then I could see the grip complaints on here being justified. My biggest problem with this thing is the lack of replacement skates. No corepads or tiger ice for this model. It has the rear skate of the V2, but two front skates more similar to the V2 Pro. If you you like the white color or mechanical switches, and use less than 6400dpi, then can't go wrong for $20 and some elbow grease.Software still blows. Can use open source software to permaset light effects when not plugged into PC w/ Synapse.I've liked the deathadder for a long time. It has exactly the right number of buttons. More middle buttons and you accidentally bump them. More thumb buttons and they start taking from your keyboard bindings instead of being their own. However, previous deathadders had rubber grips that were glued on, and in a warm backpack that glue would melt. The new deathadders have textured plastic grips and feet that are part of the mouse itself, so they will not share the same ill fate.If you scroll too fast it registers in the opposite direction and it’s unusable. This is my third Deathadder and I won’t be getting another. The cheapening of it is apparent in it the base mode no longer having a braided cable. Having to log into Razers service to use the dpi settings is also an odd - it’s effectively live service hardware and you have no say if or when it will no longer work.Apart from that is a good gaming mouse.I’ve always liked Razer products, my last gaming mouse has lasted for 20+ years and is still going but I thought I’d treat myself. This is not the latest or best from Razer but it is very good and being a lefty it suits me nicelyI didn't really dislike anything about the mouse, it is perfect for gaming, or working and is very comfortable to use for long periods of time.Beware when buying this mouse, there is a chance that you will recieve a different and cut-down version of this mouse.-The cable is not braided like the advertised images.-Made of cheap/hollow plastic-Scroll wheel is very loose and you can barely feel the steps, feels like it wouldn't last a month.Sometimes it double clicks
